Paulo Duarte Group achieves direct savings of 1,600 tonnes of CO2 per year with new fleet

The Paulo Duarte Group has invested €3.3 million in the acquisition of 33 additional tankers, rigid trucks and gas transport platforms, renewing its fleet dedicated to one of the Group’s key areas: energy transport.
With a higher capacity in terms of volume transported, the new tankers will reduce the annual mileage travelled in the transport of energy products by 14%. This reduction in mileage is estimated to result in a direct annual reduction of 1,600 tonnes of CO2 – the equivalent of 1,000 cars travelling in the city of Lisbon over the course of a year.

“This investment is in line with our sustainability strategy of significantly reducing our environmental footprint. Through ongoing investment in the efficiency of our operations, we are reinforcing our commitment to our stated goal: to reduce our emissions per kilometre travelled by 50% by 2032, based on the reference year of 2022,” said the Group’s CEOs, António and Gustavo Paulo Duarte.

It should be noted that at the beginning of the year, the Paulo Duarte Group made an investment of €11 million with the acquisition of 120 new vehicles, to which this new investment is added.
