Paulo Duarte Group inaugurates new base in Ota, an investment of over €10 million

With a total area of over 111,000 m2, this new base represents an investment of over €10 million. Its strategic location, at the heart of the national logistics hub, will enable the Group to strengthen its response capacity, improve the sustainability of its operations, create synergies between areas, ensure route optimisation and, consequently, reduce its carbon footprint.

‘With our move to Ota and the resulting optimisation of our operations, we have ensured a reduction of 1 million km/year, or 800 tonnes of CO2 per year,’ said António Paulo Duarte, CEO of the Group.

The new facilities ‘stand out for their modernity, in line with the best current standards. We have managed to improve conditions for our workers and provide new spaces, equipped with new technologies that allow us to make a qualitative leap in several areas, particularly in training, so that we can continue to guarantee excellent service to our customers,’ he added.

Gustavo Paulo Duarte, also CEO of the Group, reinforced the need to ‘value the road freight transport sector, given its significant weight in the economy’ and stressed the importance of the new Base in leveraging the Group’s sustainability strategy. With the capabilities centred on this new Base, “we will accelerate the digitisation of processes, implement new integrated management solutions and continue to work to reduce our emissions by 50% by 2032. This year alone, we have strengthened our fleet with 140 new vehicles, an investment of over €11 million, in line with our strategy to ensure safer, more efficient and environmentally responsible transport.”

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by the Mayors of Alenquer and Torres Vedras, Presidents and representatives of institutions in the sector, Customers and Partners of the Group.
